On October 8th, 2008 the 15th KVIV-Innovation forum 'Geotechniek' took place in Antwerp. During this occasion, nine presentations were given, in which the progress regarding soil mechanics and foundation technique was explained. During this occasion, the 5th KVIV-award of Innovation 'Hubert Raedschelders' was handed out. After a selection by the jury, the contribution of WTCB and its partners (FOS&S, TUC RAIL and Jan Maertens & Partners) was chosen, entitled 'Application of optic fibre technology for the long-term monitoring of geotechnical foundation elements, that was elaborated on the basis of the 'Draw Tower Grating'-optic fibre technology.
