Wiedauwkaai Bridge
The main objective of the project is the remote continuously monitoring of the 3 pillars of the Wiedauwkaai Bridge in Gent (Belgium), by means of a fibre optic sensing network. The obtained measurement results will improve the understanding of the mechanical behaviour of the pillars.
The installed fibre optic sensing network will record the response of the bridge due to static loads. Such loads include:
* Rotating bridge for passing boats
* Passing trains
In order to measure the structural response as a result of these loadings, different parameters are monitored. These include: strain, temperature, rotation and displacement.
The different measurement data are acquired using a central data acquisition system and send to a general SCADA platform.
